After Union Olimpija finally signed with coach Aleksandar Džikić, some new players were added to the roster for the 2008/09 season. The administration of the team confirmed that Jasmin Hukic and Saso Ozbolt will renew their contracts for the next 2 years.
Hukic averaged 12.4 points and 4 rebounds while shooting at 37.2% behind in the arc in 29 games in the adriatic league and Ozbolt who missed out the most part of last season. A new transfer for the team was Jaka Klobukar from Geoplin Slovan who averaged 8.8 points 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 20 games in the Adriatic League.
The team also advanced 2 youngsters from the junior team Matic Sirnik and Mirza Sarajlija.
