Barcelona ever closer to Santiago

According to sport.es Barcelona seems to be ever closer to Daniel Santiago(2.16-C). Rumors of this transfer circulated in Spain the previous days but nothing was officially announced. The SuperCup showed to coach Pascual that there are too many players in the backcourt and not enough strenth and height in the low post. This is where Daniel Santiago comes in. The Texas-born giant seems to cover all these requirements and according to the article the administration of Barcelona will be accelerating the proceedings to sign him.

Santiago came to the end of 3-year contract with Unicaja Malaga conquering the spanish league and reaching the Final-Four of the Euroleague in his time with Malaga. Santiago has briefly played in the NBA for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns. He played a total of 122 games. Last season he averaged 9 points and 4.2 rebounds in the Euroleague in 17 games.

Santiago is a serious option in FC Barcelona. They've only pure center in David Andersen. Santiago perhaps sign this week.
